The Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA) has approved two new fully-affordable housing projects proposed to be built by Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation (CSNDC) in Dorchester. The two buildings will be known as Talbot Commons Phase II.
The first is a four-story residential building with 19 units — 4 of which will be made available to formerly homeless individuals — at 151 Spencer Street.
The second is a complex at 25 New England Avenue that will include a four-story building with 23 income-restricted residential units. Of the 23 units, five will be made available to formally homeless households and three will be handicap accessible.
“We are thrilled to hear the Agency’s decision to allow us to proceed with developing these exceptional properties,” said Gail Latimore, executive director of CSNDC. “Once completed, these properties will offer important opportunities for safe and affordable housing to 42 families in our area.”
The projects are slated to break ground in April 2022 and will be expected to be completed by 2023.
