Codman Square NDC is pleased to be an inaugural grantee of First Republic Foundation. The Foundation invests in entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations, initiatives, and ideas that help our communities thrive. Codman Square NDC will use the grant in support of the Home Rehab “Recoverable Grant” Program to assist low/mod income homeowners who cannot get loans from a bank because of credit or income issues. These funds will allow homeowners to preserve and improve their most valuable asset, preventing displacement. To ‘repay’ the recoverable grant, homeowners will take advantage of an energy assessment and retrofit work in their own homes, funded through the recoverable home rehab grant, while also serving as Clean Energy Ambassadors, outreaching to their neighbors to inform them of the financial, health and other benefits of doing energy assessments/retrofits in their homes.
